For the last twenty three years I have called for all kinds of social events, including knees-ups, weddings, birthdays, corporate, fundraising and charity do’s, fancy dress bashes, PTA’s etc in the north Staffordshire, north Shropshire and south Cheshire areas and further away too. On many occasions for certain evenings I have been especially asked to be the caller.
I am the regular caller for the The Moody Food Ceili Band of Newcastle under Lyme, and for Skimmity too. I also call for other local bands such as Steamhead , The Maggoty Ceilidh Band and Madcap Ceilidh Band of Cheshire, The Jolly Machine, Parish Lamtern and the Slippery Hill Boys from Stoke on Trent and Leek area; I have also worked with HiJinx of Newtown, Powys, Wales, and Bonrif from the Lichfield area, and then Saxon Drain and Sharon's Handbag from further a field in Berkshire.

My personal approach is to make sure novices quickly gain confidence and ensure they can get the best out of having a fun evening. My style of calling places emphasis on relating to the dancers on the floor in a light hearted way, with wit, humour, understanding and animated involvement. This personal approach exudes enthusiasm and ensures enjoyment for all. It is my aim to achieve a rapport with the dancers, by adjusting to their experience, especially if there are many novices.
I offer special encouragement to children – after all they are the next generation of dancers!
I am always willing to help and offer advice on organising your event and arranging the order of your evening. I work with bands of various sounds and styles and can select and book a suitable band for your event.
